5 December 2022

Media firms La Vigne / Vitisphère are serving up something new at the end of this year with the Vignes d’Or Competition which will offer a prize to the most innovative wine growing initiatives aimed at environmental protection, societal and environmental responsibility and cost cutting. The Competition was open to all wine growers, cooperatives and traders.

There were three categories of awards for the most innovative solutions:

Category #1 : INNOVATION IN THE VINEYARD -> Sponsored by Vivelys
Category #2 : INNOVATION IN THE BARREL -> Sponsored by Seguin Moreau
Category #3 : COMMERCIALE & MARKETING INNOVATION -> Sponsored by Diam Bouchage

After shortlisting of the candidates on 4th November, the final jury then deliberated on 9th November. Prizes were awarded on 29th November at the Vinitech Trade Show in Bordeaux.

Here are the results:
Category #1: Bordeaux Families for the creation of an Environmental and Economic Interest Group for beekeeping and wine production named “the Bee GIEE’S”
Category #2: Château Moulinet for experimentation in the use of husk during wine production to increase the freshness of the wine
Category #3: Maison Jeanjean for its “Terre Nature” range bottled in recycled glass
Public vote: Domaine Georges Vigouroux for its “Stay in Touch With” marketplace which turns the idea of immediate online purchasing on its head

A special mention was given in the Commercial and Marketing category to Château Mauvinon for its inter-seeded paper which protects bottles and can then be sown to produce aromatic plants.

A wonderful project to which Oeneo group has decided to lend support by sponsoring all categories during this first edition.
